Optimal storage
🥚Is it necessary to polish colored eggs with oil?
Oiling is not only a visual highlight, but also has practical advantages:
- The pores of the eggshell are virtually sealed with the layer of fat. This means the eggs keep for longer.
- Colored eggs stain less if they are coated with a little fat (cooking oil, bacon rind) after dyeing.
🥚When is the perfect time to use the eggs?
The perfect Easter egg is just over a week old. Very fresh eggs are too young for cooking, so to speak, because they are then difficult to peel. With fresh eggs, air has not yet been able to get between the shell and the shell membrane. To cook the eggs, they should therefore be a few days older.
🥚How do I store boiled eggs?
It is best to store boiled eggs in a cool place or at room temperature. Exposure to strong sunlight and heat reduces the shelf life and causes the food to spoil more quickly.
